PROGRAMME OBJECTIVES
The Master degree in Banking and Finance is designed to prepare and strengthen the managerial staff of financial institutions, through the acquisition of specialised financial and banking knowledge and skills, so that they can effectively respond to the new realities of today's global market.
The Programme emphasises the development of critical thinking so that students are able to tackle challenges faced in modern financial institutions and banks and acquire a comprehensive view of the key topics covered in the curriculum.

This programme offers a wide range of knowledge about the operation of the financial sector. Graduates will develop the skills needed to understand how banks and financial institutions operate and what are the risks and challenges when making financial decisions. They will also develop a set of tools to meet such challenges.
The programme regards those interested in working in the financial sector or providing financial advice to businesses and other institutions. Our graduates can work in banks, insurance companies, private companies, the public sector and other financial institutions. The programme also provides specialised knowledge to individuals working in financial institutions who wish to deepen their knowledge in their field of work and gain additional qualifications to become more competitive in the labour market.
The Open University of Cyprus (OUC), through its participation in the European project "Liaison Offices with the Labour Market", offers to students of all its programmes of study, the optional and free of charge Thematic Unit (i.e. Module) entitled "Industry Placement". This module provides students opportunities for a placement to gain professional experience in their particular field of study, and the hosting institution can be any public or private organisation operating in the Republic of Cyprus.
Each student has the right to participate in this offering once or twice during his / her studies, provided that s/he meets the required conditions.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
The minimum requirement for admission to a postgraduate programme is an undergraduate degree from an accredited Higher Education Institution.
It is desirable that students have some knowledge of the English language, since some parts of the Programme's supporting educational material may be in English.
TUITION FEES
The tuition fees for the Banking and Finance programme amount to 5,400 Euro. The tuition fees per module are 1,080 Euro.
The tuition fees for the Master Thesis are also 1,080 Euro.
