Η Δρ Μαρία Γραβάνη είναι Αναπληρώτρια Καθηγήτρια Συνεχιζόμενης Εκπαίδευσης/ Εκπαίδευσης Ενηλίκων στη Σχολή Ανθρωπιστικών και Κοινωνικών Επιστημών του ΑΠΚΥ. Είναι Ακαδημαϊκή Υπεύθυνη του Μεταπτυχιακού Προγράμματος «Συνεχιζόμενη Εκπαίδευση και Διά Βίου Μάθηση» και του διεθνούς διαπανεπιστημιακού προγράμματος “International Master in Adult Education for Social Change (IMAESC)” (Erasmus Mundus).

Είναι εκλεγμένο μέλος της Διοικούσας Επιτροπής (Presidium) της ESREA (European Society for the Research in the Education of Adults) από το 2017, συντονίστρια του δικτύου Research Network for Adult Educators, Trainers and their Professionalisation (ReNAdET) της ESREA και μέλος της Συντακτικής Επιτροπής των επιστημονικών περιοδικών: European Journal for Research on the Education and Learning of Adults (RELA), Studies in Adult Education and Learning, Journal of Educational Sciences, Malta Review of Educational Research.

Η Δρ Γραβάνη συνεργάζεται με το Πανεπιστήμιο της Γλασκώβης από το 2016 στο πλαίσιο του προγράμματος IMAESC, ενώ έχει εργαστεί σε πανεπιστήμια και φορείς σε τέσσερις χώρες: Κύπρος (ΑΠΚΥ), Μεγάλη Βρετανία (University of Bristol, University College London), Ιρλανδία (Trinity College Dublin), Ελλάδα (Πανεπιστήμιο Πελοποννήσου, Ελληνικό Ανοικτό Πανεπιστήμιο, Γενική Γραμματεία Εκπαίδευσης Ενηλίκων).

Κατέχει Διδακτορικό στη Συνεχιζόμενη Εκπαίδευση (2003) και Μεταπτυχιακό στην Εκπαιδευτική Διοίκηση και Πολιτική από το Graduate School of Education, University of Bristol, και είναι πτυχιούχος Κλασικής Φιλολογίας του Αριστοτελείου Πανεπιστημίου Θεσσαλονίκης.

Τα πιο πρόσφατα ερευνητικά της έργα είναι τα εξής: “Women in adult education in academia: a biographical study” (2021-σήμερα), “Exchanging Good Practices for people/adults with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and their caregivers” (2018-2021) (Erasmus+), “Exploring European Cultural Heritage for fostering academic teaching and social responsibility in Higher Education” (2018-2021) (Erasmus+), “Learner -Centred education as a tool for social change in adult education programmes for migrants: a European comparative study” (2016-2018) (ΑΠΚΥ).

SHORT VITA

Dr  Maria  Gravani  is  an  Associate  Professor in Continuing/Adult Education at the Open University of Cyprus, School of Humanities and Social Sciences, and Academic Coordinator (at the OUC) for the MA in Continuing Education and Lifelong Learning’ & the ‘International Masters in Adult Education for Social Change’ (IMAESC-Erasmus Mundus).

She is an elected member of the ESREA (European Society for the Research in the Education of Adults) Presidium, since 2017; Co-Convenor of the ESREA Research Network for Adult Educators, Trainers and their Professionalisation (ReNAdET), and Member of the Editorial Advisory Board and Reviewer of the: European Journal for Research on the Education and  Learning of Adults (RELA), Studies in Adult Education and Learning, Journal of Educational Sciences, Malta Review of Educational Research.

She holds a PhD in Continuing Education   (2003) (State Scholarships Foundation Scholar), an MEd in Educational Management, Administration & Policy (1999), both from the Graduate School of Education, University  of Bristol, UK, and a Β.A. (Honours) in Greek Philology (specialized in Classical Studies) from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece (1997).

Her more recent research projects include the following: “Women in adult education in academia: a biographical study” (2021-present); “Exchanging Good Practices for people/adults with Attention Deficit  Hyperactivity  Disorder  (ADHD)  and their caregivers”   (2018-2021)   (Erasmus+); “Exploring European Cultural Heritage for fostering academic teaching   and   social    responsibility in Higher Education” (2018-2021) (Erasmus+); “Learner- Centred education as a tool for social change in adult education programmes for migrants: a European comparative study” (2016-2018) (OUC).
