7th international conference on «Adult Educators in Time of Crisis» co-organised by the ReNAdET of ESREA and the Open University of Cyprus

Adult Educators in Time of Crisis: Well-Being, Changes in Identity and Professional Practice in European Adult Education” is the main title and theme of the 7th biennial meeting and international conference of the Research Network for Adult Educators, Trainers and their Professionalization (ReNAdET) of ESREA (European Society for Research on the Education of Adults), co-hosted this year by the Open University of Cyprus (OUC).

The conference will be held online on Friday, October 29, 2021 (09.30 – 17.30 GMT+3). A dedicated access link will be provided to all registered participants one day prior to the conference.

 Having the covid-19 pandemic as a triggering example of a crisis with immediate impact on the adult educators profession, the Conference will serve as a platform to discuss the kind of support adult educators need in order to respond effectively to the various challenges placed due to the pandemic but also any type of crisis, as well as to deliberate on the expected new roles and practices that may be required in the near future by the professionals in this particular field. Renowned speakers, academics, researchers and doctorate holders representing universities and institutions from Greece, Cyprus, Australia, India, Italy, Sweden, Germany, Finland and Estonia, will present their research and work on the following sub-themes: a) Identify, perceptions and experiences of adult educators in the time of crisis, b) adulthood, adult learners and educators in time of crisis, and c) professional practices of adult educators and learners in virtual learning spaces. Students of the Erasmus Mundus International Master on “Adult Education for Social Change”, a joint degree, funded by Erasmus Mundus, delivered and awarded by the University of Glasgow (coordinator), the University of Malta, the Open University of Cyprus, the Tallinn University and the University of Maynooth, will share their experiences and reflections on the conference.
