OPEN UNIVERSITY OF CYPRUS SCHOLARSHIPS

The Open University of Cyprus recognizes the particular economic conditions of our time and has therefore developed a policy of offering scholarships to the programmes of study offered entirely by the OUC, based on socio-economic criteria, to support its students. At the same time, within the framework of individual partnerships, OUC has created a policy for granting scholarships to expatriate Cypriots, children of trapped parents, Archbishopric and strategic partners, as well as to third-country nationals in cooperation with the relevant Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports and Youth.

The following sections provide information for new entrant students on how to claim a scholarship in each academic year. The scholarships call is made after the approval by the relevant University bodies.

 

SOCIO-ECONOMIC CRITERIA

New entrant students of the academic year 2020-2021 that wish to claim a scholarship should meet the following Academic and Socio-economic criteria:​

ACADEMIC CRITERIA

  • High School Grade (for postgraduate students)
  • Bachelor Degree Grade (for master students)

SOCIO ECONOMIC CRITERIA

At least one or more from the following:

  • Unemployed
  • Single Parent*
  • Student must have four or more children*
  • Orphan (benefit receiver)*

*based on Cyprus regulations

The scholarship that are given concern all student's studies duration, provided that he / she achieves a success grade in all the Module he / she attends in his / her programme of study.

Interested candidates that wish to claim a scholarship should submit an application to a programme of study through the OUC portal and send the relevant Socio-Economic Criteria Scholarship Application, as well as the relevant certificates / supporting documents until June 30th, 2020 at scholarships@ouc.ac.cy.

 

EXTERNAL

The Open University of Cyprus grants scholarships to the following organisations:

Cyprus Expatriates Organisations

Two (2) full scholarships and one partial scholarship are granted (covering 50% of the cost of studying to a programme of study), to expatriate Cypriots in undergraduate / postgraduate programmes of study offered entirely by OUC (not for joint programmes).

Interested expatriate Cypriots that wish to claim a scholarship should:

  1. Have applied through the OUC portal to a programme of study.
  1. Submit a relevant certificate from the appropriate Organization of expatriate or the country’s Embassy where they reside, certifying that they are Cypriot expatriates, as well as the special scholarship application at scholarships@ouc.ac.cy.

Children of trapped parents

One (1) full scholarship is awarded to a child of trapped parents in undergraduate / postgraduate programs offered entirely by OUC (not for joint programmes of study).

Interested candidates that wish to claim a scholarship should:

  1. Have applied through the OUC portal to a programme of study.
  2. Send a certificate, issued by the Commissioner to the presidency Office, and scholarship application at scholarships@ouc.ac.cy.

Orthodox Archbishopric of Kenya  (Orthodox Teachers College of Kenya)

OUC grants one (1) full scholarship to OAK at the English programmes of study offered entirely by the OUC, to a beneficiary selected by OAK.

Cyprus Broadcasting Corporation(CyBC)

Three (3) one-year scholarships are awarded to CyBC’s employees in Programmes of study offered entirely by OUC (not joint programmes). An application to CyBC must have already been submitted, along with an enrollment to an OUC programme of study.

 

PASYDY

Two (2) full scholarships and two (2) partial scholarships (50% of the total tuition fees) per academic year are awarded to members of PASYDY for attending postgraduate programmes of Study offered completely by OUC.

New entrant students that wish to claim a scholarship should meet the following Academic and Socio-economic criteria:​

Interested new entrant students that wish to claim a scholarship should:

- submit an application to a programme of study (master level) that is offered completely by OUC through the portal https://applications.ouc.ac.cy/admissions?sap-language=%CE%95%CE%9D

-send the relevant Socio-Economic Criteria Scholarship Application, as well as the relevant certificates / supporting documents  and the verification that they are members of PASYDY at scholarships@ouc.ac.cy.

 

SCHOLARSHIP TO E.U. COUNTRY NATIONALS

Poland One (1) scholarship at the English programme of study –MBA

 

SCHOLARSHIP TO THIRD-COUNTRY NATIONALS

The following scholarships concerns third-country nationals from the following countries, for the academic year 2020-2021

Jordan  Two (2) scholarships at the English programmes of studies

South Africa Two (2) scholarships at the English programme of study –MBA

Laos One (1) scholarship at the English programme of study –MBA

Saudi Arabia One (1) scholarship at the English programme of study –MBA

 

Interested applicants that wish to claim a scholarship should:

  1. Have applied through the OUC portal at a programme of study.
  2. Send the scholarship application at scholarships@ouc.ac.cy.
