Classical patient rights, medical deontology, but also contemporary issues related to e-health occupy a central place in the curriculum. Special emphasis will be given to medical fault (medical negligence) through the study of Cypriot and English case law. Part of the curriculum will be dedicated to medically assisted human reproduction law, human organ transplantation law and legislation on standards of quality and safety of human tissues and cells.

The purpose of the Module is. the acquaintance of the student first with basic concepts and principles of this Law, then with its historical development which explains its form and helps in its understanding and finally, with the Law itself and in particular, with the most basic of the legislation that composes or constitutes it. The study of this Thematic Unit will complete the student's knowledge in basic areas of law (such as contract law and tort law) inviting him to delve into them by looking beyond their basic principles. At the same time, it will introduce the student to the homonymous policy and action of the Union, which results in an active production of Law directly intertwined with the key, primary and diffuse Union policy of the internal market, which is its basic philosophy as well as its means of production. Therefore, the study of this topic will additionally offer the student a kind of specialization in Internal Market Law.

The purpose of the Module is to understand the criminal proceedings from its starting point to the preparatory stage of the proceedings in audience. Within this context, it is considered appropriate to initially define the Greek system of criminal proceedings, the criminal proceedings’ characteristics and the principles that (should) govern it, as well as the attributes and role of the criminal trial protagonists. The subject area of the module further includes the authority of Greek criminal courts and their jurisdiction (material and territorial, jurisdiction arising through nexus or participation or joint liability, referential jurisdiction and functional jurisdiction), the procedural requirements, the procedural acts and the nullities (relative, absolute). A special section is devoted to the persons of the criminal trial (parties, judicial persons, etc.) and the way in which they should participate in the criminal proceedings (grounds for exclusion, exception, abstention of judges, lawful appearance before competent courts for the subsequent support of a civil action, etc.). Moving, moreover, to the analysis of the stages of the criminal trial, the focus of teaching is placed on the approach of pre-trial stages and the individual ways of initiating criminal prosecution, the preliminary examination and, of course, the means of procedural coercion (see pre-trial detention and restrictive conditions) and the ways of referring the accused to the court), but also on the means of defence that they may have up to that point in the criminal trial. Finally, a special section is devoted to the expedited procedure (see red-handed crimes).

The purpose of the Module is to examine and analyze the regulation of those legal relationships that present alien elements. The general part of private international law examines the main principles and function methods of private international law. In the specific part (civil international law) the special private relations (general principles, obligations, property law, family and inheritance international law) are analyzed, which present alien elements. Issues of procedural international law (international jurisdiction, recognition and execution of judgments in civil, family, inheritance and commercial cases), judicial cooperation and assistance, as well as the law of Greek and Cypriot nationality are also examined.
