Erasmus+ Outoing Staff Mobility for Training

Academic and non-academic OUC staff members may receive a grant to fulfil specialised training courses, job-shadowing, attend workshops or International Staff Training Weeks at universities, companies or organisations abroad. The purpose of STT mobility programmes is staff training, based on their subject fields, the transfer of knowledge and good practices, learning from shared experiences and acquiring new practical skills, as well as offering the opportunity to the participating staff to build on their personal and professional development.

 PARTICIPATING COUNTRIES

  • The Member States of the European Union,
  • Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, Turkey, Republic of North Macedonia, and Serbia

Participation in the Erasmus+ STT action offers the opportunity to

  • gain personal and professional development and specialised training,
  • acquire specialised knowledge and expertise through the exchange of experiences and information on good practices from organisations/enterprises abroad, and
  • Build cooperation networks with universities and enterprises abroad.

Training opportunities may include:

  • Training courses
  • Job shadowing
  • On-the-job training in Universities, organizations or companies
  • Participation at Erasmus+ International Staff Weeks

  POTENTIAL BENEFICIARIES

  • Academic Staff
  • Administrative Staff (with priority over the academic staff)

People with disabilities

People with disabilities include people whose physical or health status makes it difficult to participate in an Erasmus+ mobility activity without additional support. European Commission and Open University of Cyprus encourages the participation of staff with disabilities in all activities of the Erasmus+ programme. Erasmus+ grants may therefore be higher than the regular study or traineeship grants to offset the specific difficulties faced by the participant (such as adapted accommodation, travel assistance, medical attendance, supportive equipment, adaption of learning material, an accompanying person for students and staff with disabilities). This additional support grant is a contribution based on real costs.

  HOST ORGANIZATIONS

The mobility for training does not entail an Erasmus+ Inter-Institutional Agreement (IIA) between OUC and a partner university. This also applies for participation in International Staff Weeks unless an IIA is required by the host University. Potential host organizations include universities, companies, training centres and organizations in a country that participates in the Erasmus+ programme that is not the participant’s country of residence or the country of their home University (Cyprus in the case of OUC staff).

  MOBILITY DURATION

The minimum period of staff mobility for training is two (2) days (travelling days excluded). Beneficiaries may receive daily funding for five (5) working days maximum.

   PROCEDURES

Academic and administrative staff may apply to secure Erasmus+ funding for training during the Calls for Applications announced by the OUC Mobility Office.

Interested staff members should:

  • In consultation with their immediate supervisor (where applicable), decide on the type of training, as well as the host organisation/institute concerned.
  • Communicate with the university/organisation where they wish to conduct their training and obtain written consent for the planned mobility and the proposed training programme.
  • Complete the Erasmus+ Application (available here) and submit it to the OUC Mobility Office.

The OUC competent body will receive all applications and select staff members who will participate in the Erasmus+ Programme. Beneficiaries will sign an Erasmus+ grant agreement with OUC. Upon completion of the mobility, participants must submit to the OUC Mobility Office certain certificates and documents, in order to obtain the Erasmus+ grant.

Important to note:

  • In case that staff members wish to participate in training activities in Universities with which OUC does not have a valid institutional agreement, they should inform the OUC Mobility Office to examine the possibility of signing such agreement before deadline at host university.
  • If staff members wish to participate in an International Staff Training Week, they should contact directly the organizers and explore/secure their participation.

Evaluation of applications and Selection

Selection criteria are the following:

  • Benefits of the proposed training in relation to:
  • OUC needs and strategy (internationalization, networking with foreign institutions and organizations, added value)
  • OUC administrative staff needs (additional expertise / skills and knowledge)
  • Training compliance with present or future duties / responsibilities of the candidate
  • Level of knowledge of the host institution's working language.
  • Νο previous participation in a European mobility programme.
