PROGRAMME OBJECTIVES

The postgraduate programme in Information and Communication Systems, consisting of MSc and PhD degrees, aims to educate professionals and supplement their primary qualifications with applied, advanced and research knowledge and skills, thus enhancing the prospects of a successful career across the globe.

The MSc degree consists of two category paths, the advanced and applied path, and each path has its own specialisation tracks. Students are recommended to follow one of the two paths depending on their primary qualifications and prior knowledge – see admission requirements.

The scientific and technological knowledge in Information and Communication Systems (ICS) and Information and Communication Technologies (ICT).

High-quality Research at MSc and PhD level on Information and Communication (Telecommunication) Systems and Technologies.

Applying the principles and technologies of ICS and ICT to promote knowledge of other areas, such as entrepreneurship, education, governance, health, environment etc.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

The minimum requirement for admission to a postgraduate programme is an undergraduate degree from an accredited Higher Education Institution.

The advanced category path is directed mainly to graduates of Computer Science, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering etc.

The applied category path is directed to graduates who have successfully completed information technology courses, including programming, to the level normally covered in modern undergraduate programmes in Mathematics, Physics and Engineering. Students from other disciplines may also be considered.

TUITION FEES

The tuition fees for the completion of the Master programme in Information and Communication Systems amount to €5400.

APPLICATIONS

As of the academic year 2015-2016, the Master Programme "Information and Communication Systems" will not accept applications of newcomers. The programme will continue running only for students enrolled in the programme on the academic year 2014-2015 or earlier.

Completion of the studies requires successfully passing nine semester (9) Modules and a Master thesis. The Modules of the postgraduate programme are divided into two categories, the advanced and the applied category. In the first year, for each category, six (6) compulsory semester core modules are offered, while in the second year, the semester' modules of the direction/specialisation from which the student chooses three (3), and also prepares the Master thesis.

Other than the core thematic units offered under the advanced and applied categories, the Programme of Study offers a number of thematic units that lead students to acquire a specialization in one of the following tracks:

  • Digital Services
