POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT: RESEARCH ASSOCIATES
AT THE CYPRUS CENTER FOR TRUSTWORTHY AI (CYCAT)
The Open Univeristy of Cyprus CyCAT team is accepting applications for up to three (3) positions for employment on various funded research projects in which the CyCAT is involved. We are interested in candidates with the following profiles:
- Data Scientist / Researcher
- User Interaction (UX) Researcher
- Research Assistant / Lab Coordinator
REQUIRED QUALIFICIATIONS
- Ability to collaborate with other members of the team; team-oriented disposition.
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
- BSc and/or MSc in Computer or Information Science or other related field (e.g., HCI, Statistics, Data Science, Communication and Media (with emphasis on quantitative approaches).
- Excellent knowledge of English; ability to understand technical texts in English.
- A portfolio of successfully completed projects (for interaction designer or developer candidates).
- Analytical and detail oriented.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
- Doctoral degree in a related area.
- Documented experience in preparing / publishing scientific articles in a related area.
- Experience with statistical analysis and data management in R and/or Python.
- Knowledge in the areas of applied machine learning and/or natural language processing.
- Experience in writing grant proposals.
- Previous participation in European projects.
