Interlibrary Loan Service

The Interlibrary Loan service aims to meet the needs of access to material that is not included in the Library's catalog but is deemed necessary for research or teaching. Through the interlibrary loan service, the Library offers its users the possibility to borrow material located in the collections of other Libraries in Cyprus and abroad.

Users

All active members of the Library have the right to use the interlibrary loan service, by completing the relevant application. External users do not have borrowing rights.

Cost

The member requesting material to be loaned is obliged to pay all the administrative costs arising from the whole process. The total cost is determined on a case-by-case basis and depends on a possible copyright charge, shipping costs to and from the library providing the material and/or other procedural costs (e.g. issuing a bank check to pay for the order, a special method charge shipment). The user is informed of the charge in advance and the material is ordered only with his/her consent.

Restrictions

Material that belongs to the Short-loan Collection, Closed Collections and general informational material is not borrowed through the Interlibrary Loan Service.
