The BEC122 module contributes to the understanding of the quantitative nature of basic problems in business and economics, and educates students in creating mathematical models to examine the interaction of economic variables. Topics addressed in this respect include functions of many variables, single-variable and multivariable optimization, integration, constrained optimization, and linear programming. Throughout the module, emphasis is placed on the application of the relevant concepts and methods to typical problems in business and economics.
