In this Thematic Unit students will explore the importance of the human factor for an organization. Particular emphasis will be placed on the strategic importance of human factor management for police effectiveness. In this context, the attitudes and behaviors of individuals in the workplace will be analyzed, as well as the group human behavior. Communication, team dynamics and actions that increase/decrease the effectiveness of the group will be examined. At the same time, the ways of inciting human resources and more specifically, the motivation and job satisfaction in the police will be studied. In the same context, the role of monetary and non-monetary remuneration in motivating human resources will be discussed, as well as the methods of training and development of employees through their work. Finally, emphasis will be placed on human resources planning and succession and advancement plans in the police, as well as the role of assessment centres in the process of police promotions.
