On the 30th of March 2026 a team consisting of George Koulaouzidis and Demetris Kalles, Professors of the Hellenic Open University, as well as Christopher Christodoulides, Director of Administration and Finance of the Open University of Cyprus,, visited the Fan S. Noli University (University of Korce, UNIKO) and conducted a follow up review to the institutional assessment completed in March 2025.
The purpose of the review was to evaluate the current situation and define a strategic roadmap outlining the steps needed to develop the capabilities of the UNIKO for digital transformation and particularly in alignment with modern higher education frameworks.
On behalf of the University of Korce participants included Aida Mosko, Vice Rector for Project and Research, Aurel Graboska, Director of the Directory of Scientific Research, Tertiary Role, and Foreign Relations, as well as a number of supporting personnel from the above teams.
The meeting focused on:
- Key administrative and policy challenges, along with proposed mitigation strategies
- Enhancing the visiting team’s understanding of institutional procedures and governance structures
- Identifying operational barriers and exploring practical, implementable solutions
Overall, the meeting identified opportunities that will enable UNIKO’s transition toward a more digitally enabled institutional model. Τhe members of the team of Open EU External experts, as well as the internal UNIKO team agreed to continue their collaboration to further analyse and implement these opportunities.
