The Open University of Cyprus (OUC), and more specifically the Postgraduate Programme in “Healthcare Management” and the OUC Mobility Office, are organizing an Erasmus+ Blended Intensive Programme (BIP) entitled: “Elements and Health Impact of the Mediterranean Diet”. The BIP will be held in Nicosia, Cyprus, from May 5 to May 9, 2025. Associate Professor Elpidoforos Soteriades is the Programme’s scientific coordinator. The BIP will bring together faculty and students from European and third-country universities interested in learning and exploring research collaborations on the health impact of the Mediterranean diet. The main learning outcomes include, amongst others, understanding and recognizing the elements of the Mediterranean diet, describing the most important health impacts of the Mediterranean diet, exploring the possibilities and opportunities of promoting the Mediterranean diet in non-Mediterranean countries, identifying the pathways of using the Mediterranean diet in an environmentally sustainable way, etc.
The BIP is coordinated by the Open University of Cyprus, and the following Universities from four (4) countries are the members of the consortium: University of the Aegean, International Hellenic University, Charles University, University of Calabria, University of Crete and United Arab Emirates University. Based on the specific programme, participating academics, scholars and researchers will deliver presentations, workshops and collaborative group activities.
Through BIPs, the Erasmus+ program has the ability to offer innovative actions as these are short-term programs in which advanced teaching and learning methods are applied, promoting both online collaboration and teamwork.
