Open University of Cyprus: Cyberattack incident

[UPDATES]

The Open University of Cyprus informs all its students that the eClass eLearning Platform is accessible as of April 7, 2023.

The Open University of Cyprus (OUC) is experiencing a serious cyberattack incident as of March 27, 2023. For this reason, central services and critical systems of the University are not accessible until the incident is investigated and resolved. More specifically, as a precaution, access is not provided to the University’s eLearning Platform, Employment Portal, the Portal for applications of prospective students, and other critical systems that mainly concern the University community. It is noted that the competent University Services are working closely with various organisations to preempt future attacks, to resolve the incident, and restore the University’s systems.

The members of the University’s community will continue to receive internal updates. Students will receive detailed information on the educational processes by the members of the academic staff and the relevant OUC Professional Services. Where there are deadlines for the submission of assignments, extensions will be provided by the academic staff. An extension deadline will also be announced for open calls for academic vacancies.

Access to the OUC email is provided through: https://outlook.office.com
