Professor Yannis Manolopoulos, Vice-Rector of the Open University of Cyprus, is a guest editor of the scientific journal Transactions on Large-Scale Data- and Knowledge-Centered Systems (TLDKS Journal) 45th (XLV) collective volume entitled Special Issue on Data Management and Knowledge Extraction in Digital Ecosystems.
The recent development of the Internet of Things, and the rapid growth and use of connected objects leading to the establishment of virtual environments composed of many entities (individuals, organizations, services, software and applications) have both lead to the emergence of digital ecosystems that exhibit self-organizing environments and promote data management and computational collective intelligence. This collective volume published by Springer contains eight selected scientific articles by distinguished scientists related to the data management of digital ecosystems. Authors present the new technological challenges and analyse different theoretical and practical views and approaches focusing on topics such as data analysis, information extraction, blockchain and big data.
