O Δρ. Πέτρος Πασιαρδής είναι Καθηγητής Εκπαιδευτικής Ηγεσίας στο Ανοικτό Πανεπιστήμιο Κύπρου. Tο 1996 εργάστηκε ως Σύμβουλος του υπουργείου Παιδείας, Έρευνας και Θρησκευμάτων της Eλλάδος σε θέματα εκπαιδευτικής διοίκησης και πολιτικής και ως σύμβουλος του υπουργείου Παιδείας και Πολιτισμού της Κυπριακής Δημοκρατίας για θέματα αξιολόγησης του εκπαιδευτικού προσωπικού και του εκπαιδευτικού έργου. Επίσης, εργάστηκε ως Kαθηγητής, Επισκέπτης Καθηγητής και Ερευνητής στην Eκπαιδευτική Ηγεσία και Διοίκηση σε διάφορα πανεπιστήμια των ΗΠΑ (Πανεπιστήμια στο Τέξας), της Ευρώπης (Lincoln University, Πανεπιστήμιο Θεσσαλίας, University of Munster) και της Αφρικής (University of Stellenboch, University of Praitoria), ενώ το 2013-14 και το 2019 (Ιανουάριος – Ιούνιος) διετέλεσε Επισκέπτης Καθηγητής στο Κέντρο Ανάπτυξης Διευθυντικών Στελεχών του Umeå University στη Σουηδία.

Eίναι μέλος των επιτροπών εκδόσεων και κριτής άρθρων πολλών επιστημονικών περιοδικών, όπως Educational Management, Administration and Leadership, International Studies in Educational Administration, Leadership and Policy in Schools και International Journal of Educational Management και είναι εξωτερικός εξεταστής για διδακτορικές διατριβές πανεπιστημίων της Aγγλίας, Aυστραλίας, Iνδιών και Νοτίου Αφρικής.

Έχει δημοσιεύσει πάνω από 100 άρθρα σε αμερικανικά, αγγλικά και ελληνικά επιστημονικά περιοδικά, καθώς και αριθμό βιβλίων στην Ελληνική και στην Αγγλική.

Ο Καθηγητής Πασιαρδής διετέλεσε Πρόεδρος του Commonwealth Council for Educational Administration and Management για την περίοδο 2004-2008. Το 2008, υπήρξε ένας από τους εκδότες και συγγραφείς του διεθνούς τόμου «International Handbook on the Preparation and Development of School Leaders». Το 2014 έχει εκδοθεί το βιβλίο του «Modeling School Leadership Across Europe: In Search of New Frontiers» από τις εκδόσεις Springer, ενώ το 2016 εκδόθηκε το βιβλίο του «Successful School Leadership: International Perspectives» (μαζί με τον Olof Johansson) από τις εκδόσεις Bloomsbury Publications. Eπίσης, μαζί με τη σύζυγό του, Γεωργία Πασιαρδή, έχει συγγράψει βιβλίο με τίτλο «Aποτελεσματικά Σχολεία: Πραγματικότητα ή Oυτοπία», που εξεδόθη από τον εκδοτικό οίκο GutenbergTυπωθήτω το 2000.

Διετέλεσε Αντιπρόεδρος του Κυπριακού Συμβουλίου Αναγνώρισης Τίτλων Σπουδών (ΚΥ.Σ.Α.Τ.Σ.).

SHORT VITA

Dr. Pashiardis is a Professor of Educational Leadership at the Open University of Cyprus. He worked as Visiting Professor in a number of universities in the USA (University of Texas), Europe (Lincoln University, University of Thessaly, University of Münster) and Africa (University of Stellebnboch and University of Pretoria). During 2013-2014 he was a Visiting Professor at the Center of Development of Education Leaders at Umeå University, Sweden.

Dr. Pashiardis is a member of the editorial boards and reviewer of numerous scientific journals, i.e. Educational Management, Administration and Leadership, International Studies in Educational Administration, Leadership and Policy in Schools and International Journal of Educational Management. He is an external evaluator of PhD thesis of students in the UK, Australia, India and South Africa.

He published more than 100 scientific papers in English and Greek peer reviewed scientific journals and is the author of a number of books published in both languages. While employed at the University of Cyprus he was responsible for developing the first Master’s and Doctoral degree programmes in Educational Leadership in the Greek-speaking world in 1997. Subsequently, as Academic Head of the Programme of Educational Studies at OUC, he was responsible for creating a strategic plan for the new Master’s and Doctoral programmes, the coordination of distance learning course development and offerings, as well as producing teaching material for distance learning courses and teaching some of them. For more than 20 years, he has acted as a Consultant to the Ministries of Education of Cyprus and Greece, the Police Academy of Cyprus, the EU, the OECD and the Commonwealth Secretariat, in various projects, which aimed to provide strategic direction to Education For All (EFA) and Women in Leadership around the Commonwealth.

Some of his main publications are: "International Handbook on the Preparation and Development of School Leaders" as co-author with Jacky Lumby and Professor Gary Crow; "Modeling School Leadership Across Europe: In Search of New Frontiers" by Springer in 2014; "Successful School Leadership: International Perspectives" co-author Olof Johansson by Bloomsbury Publications in 2016.
