Advertisment of two (2) positions of Special Scientists for the research project "LIFE IP Physis"

 

The Open University of Cyprus invites applications for two (2) full or part time vacancies of Special Scientists for the project:

LIFE IP Physis [Managing the Natura 2000 network in Cyprus and shaping a sustainable future]

The project aims to make the Natura 2000 network in Cyprus more effective and functional as well as sustainable with the overarching goal of achieving favorable conservation status for habitats and species, particularly of those included in the Habitats and Birds directives. The project throughout its 10-year lifetime proposes actions that will be implemented at a national scale in general, while specific actions for certain species and habitats will be implemented in 35 Natura 2000 sites.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT

Please note that the persons employed should be physically present at the OUC premises.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The candidates selected will contribute to the following generic and specific activities related to the project:

Generic Activities:

  • Preparation of research articles and other technical reports for the project
  • Contribution of the management and dissemination organized in Cyprus and abroad.
  • Any other task assigned which is relevant to the project.

Specific Activities:

  • Carrying out literature reviews relevant to the projects’ topics.
  • Carrying out empirical research studies relevant to the project.
